We're putting the final touches to our event hire offer ahead of launch, but we wanted to give you a first look at what will be available and hear from you if you like what you see.
Three distinctive spaces will be available, each with its own character, set within a Grade II* listed Victorian funicular railway station on the Folkestone seafront. Alongside the beautifully restored original waiting rooms, a new single-storey timber extension is being built beside the Lower Station to house our main kitchen, bar and hospitality space.
Designed to sit sensitively alongside the historic station rather than imitate it, the extension takes its cues from the proportions, rooflines and materials of the original Victorian building while remaining distinctly contemporary. Inside, it will provide a light-filled, seafront-facing space with fantastic views, direct access onto the promenade and a full food and drink offer.
Together, the restored heritage rooms and new hospitality extension will create a flexible setting for dinners, drinks receptions, launches, celebrations and other private events, while helping support the long-term future of the Lift.
Kitchen & Bar
Seafront-facing, light-filled, and opening straight onto the promenade. Run day-to-day as our hospitality space, it is available to hire with full food and drink service. Ideal for dinners, drinks receptions, launches and informal gatherings, whether seated or standing.
Platform 1
One of the original Victorian waiting rooms, fully restored with its period detailing and arched windows intact. A flexible heritage space available for talks, ceremonies, seated dinners, drinks receptions or celebrations, with room to create a dancefloor when required.
Platform 2
The counterpart to the West Wing, sharing the same restored Victorian character and period detailing. A flexible heritage space that can be hired alongside the West Wing for larger events, or independently for dinners, receptions, lectures, and very intimate gatherings.

All three spaces can also be combined for exclusive use of the whole lower station outside of normal lift operating hours.
