Leas Lift Colouring Competition

Get creative with the Leas Lift Colouring Competition!

We’re inviting artists of all ages to take part in a special Colouring Competition. Local illustrator Tom Bradshaw / ScribeYak has created a brilliant drawing of the historic lift and its journey to restoration – now it’s your turn to bring it to life with colour, imagination, and flair!

The competition opened on Sunday 31 March, and entries must be submitted by Monday 22 April. There are four age categories to keep things fair and fun:

  • Ages 0–4
  • Ages 5–11
  • Ages 12–16
  • Ages 17 and over

One winner from each category will be invited to take a very special pre-launch ride on the Leas Lift when all our work is finished – an exclusive opportunity to be among the first people to travel on the newly restored lift before it officially reopens to the public.

How to enter:

  1. Pick a colouring sheet up from the Leas Lift Cafe container on Lower Sandgate Road or download and print from the button below.
  2. Add your colours using pencils, pens, paints – whatever you like!
  3. Take a clear photo or scan of your finished masterpiece.
  4. Email your entry to hello@leaslift.co.uk, making sure to include:
    • The name of the artist
    • Their age
    • Contact details for a parent/guardian (if under 18)

We can’t wait to see how you imagine the Leas Lift in full colour!

Terms and Conditions

Children under the age of 18 must have their entry submitted by a parent or guardian. Return your entry to hello@leaslift.co.uk by April 22nd, late entries will not be considered. Don’t forget to include your name, age, and contact details. Only one entry per person is permitted. A panel from the Leas Lift team will judge the entries based on creativity, effort, and use of colour. Winners will be chosen from each age group and announced via our website and/or social media channels. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Prizes will be awarded to the winners in each age group. No cash alternative will be offered.

By entering, you give permission for your artwork to be displayed at the Leas Lift and shared on our website and social media channels. We may publish names and ages alongside artwork unless you request otherwise. Contact details will only be used for the purposes of this competition and will not be shared or stored beyond the announcement of winners. The Leas Lift team reserves the right to amend these terms or withdraw the competition at any time if necessary.
